A mural designed with youth and community in East Hollywood. Future community garden and park space.

A partnership of LA Commons, Trust for Public Land, and the LA Community Garden Council has made this mural possible with community support. I lead workshops with youth in the East Hollywood Area to create a mural that will be located in the future site of a public park and community garden. The youth collected community stories and interviewed community members to help in the process of the design. After numerous workshops the youth created elements that were then incorporated into the final design of the mural. Once the park and garden is built the youth will help me paint this mural along the community garden storage and office building. Below is the design that was submitted to Department of Cultural Affairs to be included in the Los Angeles mural registry.
